Tropical Storm Beryl is gaining strength as it passes over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and is predicted to become a hurricane again later Sunday on approach to the Texas coast. The storm, which caused major damage in parts of Grenada, Jamaica and the Yucatán Peninsula, is expected to make landfall in Texas near Matagorda, which is north of Corpus Christi and south of Galveston, before dawn Monday as a strong Category 1 hurricane, intensifying until it moves inland.
