On Wednesday, former Wave video and creative manager Brittany Alvarado released an extensive statement accusing club president Jill Ellis of creating a culture of abuse within the organization.

“[Ellis] has compromised countless lives to advance her narcissistic personal agenda, fostering an environment where abusive behaviors among her subordinates was allowed to flourish,” Alvarado said on X, formerly Twitter.

Another former Wave employee, Jenny Chuang, responded to Alvarado’s post, revealing that she “begged for help while my mental health declined rapidly” during her tenure with the team.

In response, the San Diego Wave issued a statement categorically denying the accusations, describing them as “inaccurate and defamatory.” The club also indicated that it would be pursuing all legal avenues in response to these claims.
