ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A child was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being shot Wednesday night in north St. Louis County.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers responded just before 10:30 p.m. to the shooting in the 11100 block of Pritchard Drive to find a 10-year-old suffering from a bullet-related injury.
Police said the child was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
A man was taken into custody in connection with the shooting, police said.
The investigation was ongoing as of Thursday morning.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
